Updating a cluttered 1950s kitchen for full wheelchair accessibility.
The Problem
A typical 1950’s home with builders grade kitchen and a separate dining room. Clients’ daughter was handicapped. As she was wheelchair bound, she had no access to the kitchen.
The solution
RBL removed the wall between kitchen & dining room, creating an open access kitchen. Peninsula provided both an eating area & a food prep area that daughter could access. Cooktop with controls on the side provided clear access to slide pots on & off burners. Microwave & oven located at a convenient height for daughter to have full access.
